Space-Saving Galley Kitchen Designs

This galley kitchen uses all of the space available in a very small room. The original galley kitchens on ocean-going ships had little space for the cook to use as a work station. Modern galley kitchen designs incorporate the same economy of space for cooking, storage and food preparation surfaces.

Space is at a premium and both sides of the kitchen are put to work. Storage cabinets use the space above the countertop to make the corner a useful part of the overall kitchen layout. An enclosed dishwasher is tucked out of the way within easy reaching distance of the sink. The other kitchen appliances flow with the décor in a useful and accessible way.

White surfaces reflect plenty of sunlight to create a crisp, clean, more open feeling. The outdoors almost literally flows in through the large windows that allow this beautiful galley kitchen to appear larger than it is.
