Traditional kitchens are, by far, the most common kitchen design. That's because most homeowners (and home buyers) usually prefer traditional kitchen design elements. Common elements include islands used for common work areas, a good deal of natural light (with open floor plans, large windows, etc.), and old-fashioned backsplash surface materials (e.g., tile, tin, or beadboard). You might also find kitchen hutches, breakfast bars, glass-faced cabinets, granite countertops, glass-fronted display shelves, and built-in work spaces in traditional kitchens. Colors are generally warm and inviting, but you might also find bright yellows or muted blues in these popular traditional kitchens.
