Should I paint or stain my kitchen cabinets?
Q: I want to buy kitchen cabinets, but I’m having trouble deciding whether to paint them or stain them. I want the cabinets to be light to white. I also want the option that will not wear out quickly. Anyone have any ideas?
A: Paint inevitably shows dirt more because the color is uniform throughout. Wood grain is able to hide some dents and scratches that paint cannot. Also, consider the appearance of the rest of the kitchen, such as floors, walls and countertops.
