Toning Down a Red Kitchen

Q.
The new house that I bought has a BRIGHT red kitchen. I really love the color but I am having a hard time deciding on what color to paint the living room because the whole space is very open. I really don’t know where to start.
A: I think you should start with taking a look at what fabrics are in your living room. Pick a color out of that, maybe in the purple or orange family. You can tie that color into the kitchen with accessories or curtains. Pick a few colors and paint a few spots and live with those a few days. By then you will be able to tell what color goes best. Happy painting!
