Paint vs Stain

Q.
I want to buy kitchen cabinets. I’m having trouble deciding whether to paint them or stain them. I want them light to white. I want the option with the least wear. Anyone have any ideas?
A: The paint inevitably shows dirt more, because it is uniform throughout. The wood grain is able to hide some dents and scratches that paint cannot. Also consider the appearance of the rest of the kitchen, such as floors, walls and countertops.
